Bharti Airtel Ltd. said its net profit for the quarter ending June 30 rose to 21.67 billion rupees from 14.24 billion rupees last year.
India's second-largest telecom player said first quarter net sales rose to 85.67 billion rupees from 59.57 billion rupees the year ago.
Facing a stiff competition from CDMA vendors Tata and Reliance, India's biggest mobile operator Airtel has launched a new plan called Airtel Jackpot 249 in Delhi & NCR region. Fixed Monthly Commitment - 249 Rs (zero clip charges)
- Local Rates - mobile to mobile 30 paise/min and mobile to landline 50 paise/minute
- STD rates - STD rates to airtel - 1 Rs/min and others 1.5 Rs/min
- Free Talktime - 500 Minutes of Local usage (to any mobile).
At 249 Rs local call rates at 30 paise and 500 local minutes wihout the restriction of same networks, is pretty cool. Should go well with postpaid customers.
