SBI Recruitment SBI To Hire 4200 Staff For Associate Banks Clerical Vacancy In SBI Associate Banks The country's top lender, State Bank of India, today said that it was looking to hire more than 4,200 employees for its associate banks ~ a development that comes within a few days of its plan to recruit 25,000 people. SBI said in a public announcement today that it planned to recruit 4,280 clerical staff at its various associate banks for operations across the country. The recruitment drive for its associate banks follows SBI saying earlier last month that it would hire 25,000 people in the current financial year ~ a move that comes at a time when banks across the world are mostly trimming their workforce in the backdrop of a global financial crisis. The various associate banks for which SBI is looking to recruit staff include, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Indore, State Bank of Patiala and State Bank of Travancore. There are more than 1,000 vacancies each with State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Patiala and State Bank of Travancore, between 240 and 440 employees would be recruited for each of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Indore and State Bank of Mysore. SBI chairman Mr OP Bhatt said on 16 November that SBI was hiring 20,000 clerical staff and 5,000 people in supervisory positions in the current financial year. In its previous major hiring spree, SBI had announced, about a year ago, plans to increase its as well as the associate banks' headcount by about 10,000 people. Lines: Six persons of a family, including three children, died when a mob set fire to a house in Watli village during fresh communal violence in Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh. Police failed to prevent the attack on early Sunday morning though they had been warned that there could be communal violence in the village. No senior officers were in the village at the time of the attack.
District Collector Ahmed Nadeem told PTI three of the dead couldn’t be recognised and all the bodies had been sent for autopsy.
Nadeem, who has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident, said five of the dead were from Hyderabad and were visiting their parents' home in the village for Dussehra festival.
Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy held a meeting with senior officials in Hyderabad and would visit Bhainsa.
Taking a serious note of the incident, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy asked district police to be on high alert and prevent the spread of violence.
Adilabad district is tense after four people were killed and 15 injured in communal violence and police firing in Bhainsa town of the district on Friday.
The clashes between members of two communities broke out during the immersion procession of Durga idols. An indefinite curfew imposed in the town on Friday night continued on Sunday.
Tension also prevailed in Nirmal and Adilabad towns, where police have imposed restrictions on assembly of people.

Her husband became aware of the situation when he read their letters to each other in February of 1997 and revealed it to family members. His cousin then reported the relationship to local child protection services.

As anyone who's sat through a Thanksgiving dinner can tell you, families can drive you nuts. And if you're bold or crazy enough to go into business together, beware. A recent study found only 15 percent of family businesses survive past the second generation, meaning if the whims of the marketplace don't get you, familial rivalry or plain old fashioned greed will.
Which makes the Antinori family of Italy all the more remarkable - they've been in the same line of work for six centuries now. As correspondent Morley Safer reports, the Antinoris make wine, and the family story reads like something a wine critic might write about their product: complex, stylish, sophisticated, with a bouquet both elegant and earthy. It's harvest time in the great vineyards of Italy, none greater than the 5,000 acres farmed by the Antinori family. Until recently, Italian business - especially the wine business - was pretty much for men only.
"Girls, normally, in families like ours, ended up to be married, possibly happily, and that's it. No need to work," says Albiera Antinori, who with her two sisters Allegra and Alessia are the first women in 26 generations to play a major role in the family enterprise
Lines: Who gets up one morning and says, “I think I'll open a peanut butter restaurant?” That's weird. Even weirder, it wasn't just one person who said this, it was three: Ken Hall, Jodene Jensen, and Keri Barney, who founded P.B.Loco in 2003. Lawyers tell the best lawyer jokes In former lives all three were lawyers. But don't hold that against them. (Kidding, kidding, who doesn’t love lawyers?) But these aren't your typical lawyers anyway. All three have jumped out of an airplane. One can walk on her hands (hint: it's not Ken). Another can touch her tongue to her nose (hint: again, not Ken). And still another can tie a cherry stem into a knot with his tongue (hint: this person is Ken). See a pattern developing? Aside from Keri's strange penchant for hand-walking, this trio sports some extremely talented tongues.
So, how did P.B.Loco come to be? Lawyers love to figure things out. They love to argue. And they love to eat sandwiches. (Name one lawyer movie that doesn’t show a lawyer sitting at a desk eating a sandwich. See, you can’t.) So a sandwich restaurant was a natural choice.
The peanut butter part comes in because all three of these 30-something people are basically still kids. And some kids never forget their love for a good peanut butter sandwich. Only now they've got adult tastes, too, so the peanut butter needed to get a bit more sophisto. Also, these three lawyers knew a lot of other kid-people their age who still love peanut butter. Surely, these people needed some place to eat, too.
Math, Gary and Floppy Ken likes math. And for some reason, Keri's better side has been dubbed Gary, while Jodene has a dog that will roll all the way across the yard for a spoonful of P.B.Loco peanut butter. No one knows why these things are true. They just are, just like it's also true that Jodene flies planes, Ken sails boats, and Keri drives a car (but not legally). [At this point the writer of these few paragraphs took a break to enjoy a Cinny Nilla, featuring cinnamon & raisin peanut butter, vanilla cream cheese, granny smith apple slices, and a drizzle of caramel. After that, he had himself a nap. When he woke up, he looked back at what he had written and figured the important stuff had been said, and any reader who made it this far had read enough, and may want to go get one of those sandwiches too.]

A huge deal has been made of these supposed vacation makeout photos but we’re here to put the rumors to rest.
Are there photos of Vanessa kissing Bobby Bones? Yes. Does that mean she is cheating on her long-time boyfriend, Mr. Zac Efron? No.
The photos were taken during filming for Vanessa’s new movie Bandslam. And while other sites have posted photos of Vanessa apparently kissing, lying on the beach and even making out with Bobby, they are not real.
If you look closely at some of the photos, it’s easy to tell that the photos posted on the site are of Zac and Vanessa NOT Bobby Bones and Vanessa

1. Tennessee Titans I can't ignore them any more now that they're the only undefeated left. Tennessee shouldn't have too much trouble against the Chiefs this weekend, which will set up a huge Monday Nighter in Week 8. I still have many doubts about the Titans offense, but as long as they remain undefeated, they'll occupy this top spot.
2. New York Giants I'm not completely dropping all sense of reality with the Giants. Cleveland was jacked up, the Giants were clearly off after having Plaxico out for two weeks. There isn't a team in the NFL this season that will avoid one bad week.
3. Washington Redskins Same sentiment as above. We're giving the Skins one free mulligan.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers You can't argue strength of schedule with the Steelers, and it doesn't get any easier for Big Ben and Mike Tomlin. Well, it will get easier for one week (@ Cincinnati) but then it's back to grind in Week 8 (vs NYG). The loss to Philly was ugly, but the best event possible for their growth. You can be sure the offensive line and Roethlisberger spent the bye week further developing its reaction to blitzes.
5. Dallas Cowboys Perhaps this is too high, but the teams remanis too talented to drop out of my top 10. I'm not terribly concerned with Brad Johnson under center for the next few weeks. The biggest question with Dallas remains around Terrell Owens and his potential to destroy any and all chemistry in the locker room. Versus Tampa Bay this week will tell us a lot.
6. Indianapolis Colts Indy needs to win a tough road game this weekend in Green Bay before I feel more comfortable about this, but I believe the Colts aren't far from turning a significant corner and putting up some huge offensive numbers.
7. Buffalo Bills Let's hope Trent Edwards returns to form very soon. J.P. Losman can make plays but as we saw last week, he makes the mistakes that lose you football games. A big barometer for Buffalo comes this weekend when San Diego pays a visit.
8. Philadelphia Eagles The win over San Francisco was hardly impressive, but when Brian Westbrook returns they'll climb back into the top of the NFC East. Bye week comes at a much needed point, before the Eagles take on the surprisingly competive Atlanta Falcons.
9. San Diego Chargers Impressive win Sunday night aganist New England where LaDainian Tomlinson is looking more and more healthy. But who needs LT when you have Philip Rivers? I just wanted to see how wierd that look in print. Not entirely true, but boy did Rivers sling it well. I still expect San Diego to take the AFC West and a win this weekend in Buffalo would go a long way to that end.
10. New England Patriots Great Monday night game this week which will help us learn a lot more about two teams I can't quite get a read on. Unless Matt Cassel can locate Randy Moss downfield, the Patriots are going to continue to struggle. They're still full of players who've won a lot of games, which is the main reason why I'm not dropping the Pats too far... yet.

That's aided in no small part by the chipset's 16 parallel graphics cores, not to mention a generally beefier GPU that occupies a full 70% of the die area. If that's not enough for you, Apple is also throwing NVIDIA's 9600M GT into the MacBook Pro, which'll give you two GPUs and either 256MB or 512MB of memory. That power will unsurprisingly come at the expense of some battery life, however, with the 9600 cutting things back to four hours from the five hours you can expect with the discrete GPU switched off. In the Q&A after the announcement, Apple also confirmed that it'd be the first taking the chipset to market, but that anything further is up to NVIDIA. Expect to hear more about that tomorrow, when NVIDIA is supposedly making its own announcement.- Source
President Pratibha Patil on Tuesday received five e-mail threats, sending security agencies in a tizzy. The e-mails, sent from the ID “black.monolith@gmail.com”, hurled various allegations against Patil and also threatened her with dire consequences, official sources said.
Patil had also received an e-mail on Sunday and it was traced by the security agencies to Tamil Nadu. However, Airtel, the service provider to the Internet connection, was unable to give details about the connection.
All the e-mails were received on the President’s official website -www.presidentofindia.gov.in - and the sender seemed to be a maniac, officials attached with the probe said. Police in Tamil Nadu had been alerted and a team of experts from central security agencies was working to find the creator of the e-mails.
Security agencies are in touch with officials of the portal gmail.com to trace the senders of the threat mails, the sources said. Source- Sifynews

Save Your Fonts with Your Presentation If you're preparing a presentation that you plan to distribute to others, be sure that you check this option by clicking on the Tools button in the File/Save As dialog box. This will work for most TrueType fonts on the Windows platform.
Saving Your Toolbar Configurations If you like to customize your UI, move toolbars around, configure toolbars, etc, then you'll want to know that all this information is stored in c:\windows\application data\microsoft\powerpoint\ppt.pcb
By copying this file, you can move your customizations to other machines.
Displaying Keyboard Shortcuts in Tool Tips If you'd like to see the available keyboard shortcuts for menus, commands, and toolbar buttons, go to Tools/Customize, click on the Options tab, and click on "show shortcut keys in screen tips".
Getting Rid of Short Menus Forgetting user reaction to this feature when it was introduced in Word years ago, the Office team decided to try it again. Unfortunately, it's still annoying. To see all of your options when you click on menus, go to Tools/Customize, click on the Options tab, and uncheck "menus show recently used commands".
Preview Fonts in the Toolbar If you'd like to see previews of the actual fonts in the font selection of the formatting toolbar, go to Tools/Customize, click on the Options tab, and click "List font names in their font", click Close.
Making Auto-Fit Text Stop Auto-Fitting Turn this feature off by going to Tools/Options, click on the Edit tab, and uncheck "autofit text to text placeholder", click OK.
Getting Rid of Tri-Pane View Unfortunately there is no way to permanently avoid this improvement, but you can quickly get rid of it by holding down the CTRL key when you click on the Slide View button.
Using Ctrl-Drag to Copy You can quickly make a copy of any object by holding down the CTRL key while you drag on the object. You will then "drag off" a new copy.
Making Slides Print Correctly PowerPoint has certain defaults to determine how it prints each object on the page. You can see over-ride these defaults. Go to View/Black and White; this will show you a gray-scale preview of how your slide will print. To change the print settings for any given object, right-click on it, then click "Black and White", and then choose the appropriate print option for that object. Master objects can be selected by going to the Master page View.
Preview Slide Show Effects While editing a presentation, hold down the CTRL key while clicking the slide show view button; this will open a tiny preview window showing that slide in slide show mode.
Setting the Default Text Style If you want to change the style of the text that appears when you type things that aren't the title or the slide body, do the following: Make sure no objects are selected. From the Format menu, select Font. Make all the changes that you want there, and click OK. From that point on, new text will be created in that style.
To Set the formatting for the title or slide body objects, go to the Slide Master and format these objects on the master.
Using Different Backgrounds within one Presentation Users of PowerPoint 2000 and lower will only have two background designs automatically supplied with the Masters (counting both the Slide Master and the Title Master). However, you can have any design you want on any slide. From the Format menu, select Background. Check the box that says "omit background items" and this will make the slide ignore the Slide Master's design. You are now free to add whatever design you want to this slide. If you want to do this to many slides at once, go to the Slide Sorter, select the slides, and then use the Format menu command. Remember though that if you choose to do something like put a photographic background on many of your slides instead of doing it once on the Master, that your file size may increase dramatically.
Using More than One Guide If you like using guides, but wish there were more, you can create additional Guides by simply holding down the CTRL key while dragging on an existing Guide. This will create a new guide. To get rid of guides, just drag them off the edge of the slide.
Using Guides to Measure Make the Guides visible by using View/Guides. Then, hold down the SHIFT key while you click-and-hold a guide; the tooltip for the guide will display 0:00. As you move the guide, the distance the guide covers from the beginning of the drag will be displayed in the units of your ruler. In this way you can measure distances between objects, place guides at specific places, etc.
Creating Pages with Slides and Descriptive Text If you want to create printable pages that have notes or descriptive text associated with each slide, PowerPoint has a feature designed to do just this called Notes Pages, or Speaker's Notes (depending on which version you're using). To view the Notes page for any slide, go to the View menu and select Notes Pages. You will see an image of your slide there, and a placeholder for adding your script, notes, or any other text you wish. You can cut-and-paste text from Word here if you like. To print these pages, bring up the Print dialog, and at the bottom of the dialog where it says "Print What:", select Notes Pages. These pages were originally designed to be used as audience hand outs (with space for the audience to take notes) but were also used by many as speaker's notes: the text block would have the script of the presentation, to be used by the speaker, or for sales binders to educated sales people.
Making Presentation Files Smaller Prior to PowerPoint 97, there was no internal file compression code inside of PowerPoint, and files could get pretty big quickly. The most common cause of large files is the addition of large bitmaps. PowerPoint 97 compresses these bitmaps, but previous versions do not. To keep your presentations as small as you can, try reducing the resolution of your bitmaps, which will bring their size down tremendously. For viewing on screen, the bitmaps don't need to be more than 96 dpi; they won't print nicely until they're up around 150 or higher, but the screen always displays at 96 dpi, so if the primary viewing medium is the screen, there's no point in having the bitmaps be a higher resolution. Also, the bitmap format can make a big difference to your file sizes. JPEG and PNG both have good internal compression code. GIF has some, but not as good as JPEG. BMP files are the largest; TIFF files will also be very large.
Sometimes, as you're working on a presentation, you'll notice that the file seems to get bigger for no reason. To get rid of this "bloating", save the file using "File/Save As" and give the file a new name. This can reduce the file size up to 50%.
Building Presentations for Distribution to Others If you're making a PowerPoint presentation that you intend to distribute to lots of different people, here are some important things to watch out for that will cause problems:
1. Stick with the fonts that come installed with Windows; Fancy fonts that appear on your machine will cause problems if everyone else doesn't have them.
2. Avoid embedding sounds and videos: these will not go from Mac to Windows gracefully, and you have to be very careful about how you insert the files in order to get them to "travel" properly. See the FAQ section for more information on this.
3. Try looking at the presentation on a different platform (Mac vs Windows); be prepared for some visual changes in your file--the version or platform may not support some of the features you've put in, so be sure to sanity check your file on several different machines and versions BEFORE you distribute it!
Easily Changing from Caps to Lower Case (or Vice Versa) If you have text that is in the wrong case, select the text, and then click Shift+F3 until it changes to the case style that you like. Clicking Shift+F3 toggles the text case between ALL CAPS, lower case, and Initial Capital styles. You'll be surprised how often you use this once you get the hang of it!
Nudging Objects You can use the arrow keys to move objects very small distances. This is a big win for those laptop users who no longer have mice. Select the object, then use your arrow keys. Each press of the key will move the object on "grid unit" (1/12th of an inch, don't ask why); if you hold down the ALT key while nudging, or if you have the grid turned off, you can move the objects one pixel at a time.
Saving Across Multiple Diskettes From the File menu, select Pack and Go. This wizard will compress your PowerPoint presentation and copy the file onto as many floppies as are necessary. Be sure to format a bunch of floppies BEFORE you start the process, and make sure they are empty. This feature requires PowerPoint 95 or higher.
Subliminal Messages These can be pretty hysterical in the right circumstances. Create a text object. With the text object selected, click on the Animation Effects button on the tool bar (the one that looks like a yellow star), and then click on the "flash once" button. Go to slide show and see the message quickly flash and then disappear.
Editing Drawings Anything you draw with the pencil tool, you can edit. To get the object into "points mode", either double-click on the object, or select it then hit the Enter key. You will then see points at every vertex, which you can move. You can add points by holding down the shift key and clicking, you can subtract points by holding down the ALT key while clicking, and you can of course just drag points around.
Soft Shadows You can create "soft" shadows for square or round objects that sit on a solid color background. Make a copy of the object, then change its fill to be shaded from black to the background color, with the shading set with black going from the center out to the background color at the edges. Make this object about 150% bigger than the original object, and put it behind the object. This will give you the effect of "soft" shadows.
Selecting Small Objects Hit the ESCAPE key to insure that nothing is current selected, then repeatedly hit the TAB key, which will toggle you through a selection of all of the objects on a slide. This is useful for selecting very small objects, or objects that are covered up by other larger objects.

1. Performance in CAT is an important input in the admission process and is the primary basis for shortlisting candidates for the second round of admission process, which comprises of group discussion and/or personal interview. Candidates should note that it is important to perform well relative to other candidates in each section of the test as the scores in each section and the overall score are used to short list the candidates for the second round. These scores may also be used for final ranking as well. In addition to the performance in CAT, IIMs may use academic performance, relevant work experience and other similar inputs for ranking and shortlisting candidates for group discussions and personal interviews.
2. Please note that each IIM shortlists candidates for Group Discussions (GD) and/or Personal Interviews (PI) independent of other IIMs. Hence it is possible to observe variations in the list of candidates shortlisted by different IIMs. For more details, candidates are advised to read carefully the admission process related information of each IIM, as given in section 4 of the CAT Bulletin and on the web sites of respective IIMs.
3. Details of candidates shortlisted by different IIMs for group discussion and/or interview will be made available on CAT website (www.catiim.in) on January 9, 2009. Shortlisted candidates would also be sent letters from the respective IIMs. GD/PI are conducted by each IIM separately. (CAT 2008 Results on January 9, 2008 )
4. After the GD/PI round, admission offers are made by IIMs to successful candidates. The ranking and final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes and may include performance in CAT, performance in GD/PI, academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience etc. The weights given to each of these attributes may vary across IIMs as the admission process of each IIM, subsequent to CAT is independent.
5. Disclosure of information about the admission process at IIMs is driven by concerns, which at times conflict with each other. The IIMs would like the admission process to be transparent. At the same time, IIMs would wish to protect the privacy of individual candidates and confidentiality of the process to prevent abuse. Based on these considerations, the performance of an individual is not made available to any other person. Similarly, the performance of candidates in GD/PI including assessment of attributes mentioned under paragraph 4 of this box is not disclosed to anyone to prevent exercise of undue pressure on the panelists participating in the admission/selection process. Moreover, each IIM exercises its own discretion in disclosing weights assigned to diverse sets of attributes mentioned under paragraph 4 above. To ensure that the resultant lack of transparency does not in any way affect the candidates negatively, adequate care is taken in formation of panel, development of objective criteria for assessment, random allocation of candidates to a panel and other such measures.
6. Candidates, who appeared in GD/PI will be able to view whether they have been offered admission by different IIMs on April 10, 2009 by visiting the websites of respective IIMs. Admission offer letter would be sent to all successful candidates by different IIMs for which the candidates have been selected. Candidates, who are offered admission, need to confirm their acceptance by completing all the required formalities by May 1, 2009. Some candidates may also be placed on the waiting list initially on April 10, 2009. Offers to candidates on the waiting list would depend upon the number of successful candidates accepting the offer made by an IIM.
