Rohit Monserrate, the 21-year-old son of Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserrate, has been booked by Goa Police with the rape of a 14-year-old German girl.
Rohit has also been booked with outraging modesty, sending obscene SMS, abetment to crime and crime under Goa Children Act by the Goa Police.
He was booked after the girl's mother, Fadela Fuchs, complained to the police that Rohit had sexually abused and harassed her 14-year-old daughter.
Her lawyer also revealed that the mobile number used by Rohit to send the SMS was registered in the name of his father.
Fuchs, who is a researcher on Indian mythologies based in Goa on the long-term visa, had on October 2 had filed a complaint with the Calangute police station against Rohit.
